Preserving Nature Through Creativity.

Preserving Nature Through Creativity.

The first step in bringing this project to life is preparing the site so that the necessary infrastructure can be created. As with many developments, this requires clearing certain parts of the land. However, from the very beginning, we wanted to ensure that the natural character of the area would not simply disappear but instead be respected and preserved in a meaningful way.

Turning Nature into Art

To achieve this, we partnered with local artist Gino Martina, who is known for creating impressive works of art using natural materials from the island. He creates his artworks using locally sourced materials, including wood from local trees and discarded materials found along the roadside. Instead of being discarded, the wood will be transformed into unique pieces of art. In this way, the natural materials from the land will continue to exist in a new and meaningful form. With this initiative, we aim to treat the environment with care and respect while building something new.

The Story of the Palu di Brasil Tree

One of the most distinctive tree species found on the Tierra del Mar site is the Palu di Brasil. This remarkable tree is known for its deep red interior wood and its beautifully twisted, organic shapes, which make it especially suitable for artistic creations.

The Palu di Brasil also has a fascinating historical significance. During the 17th century, the wood was a valuable export product and played an important role in the production of natural dyes used to color fabrics. Its rich pigments made it highly sought after in international trade.
